Q: What is this service?

This is a brand new service where we can provide you with an even wider range of extended hour appointments than before (evenings and weekends). You can see a doctor/nurse by appointments similar to that at the surgery. The good news is the doctor/nurse can now see you with your full computer records.

Q: Is this a new regular service?

This pilot service is planned to operate at full capacity from October until March 2018.

Q: How do I book?

Call your surgery during normal hours or ask your receptionist. The Hubs are open by appointment only weekdays 18:30 – 20:00 and weekends 08:00 – 20:00 as per hub opening times - you cannot book online.

Extended Access

Q: How do I cancel?

Please call your surgery during its normal opening hours and cancel your appointment or telephone the hub phone number 0208 226 6546, selecting the option required for the hub you are booked into.

Q: What happens if I am late?

Unfortunately, if you are more than 5 mins late you may not be seen. This is due to the time pressures of the late clinics. Please allow plenty of time for parking, finding the location etc.

Q: What happens if I walk in without an appointment?

You will be referred back to the practice or normal out of hours services (111, UCC, A&E) as appropriate

Q: Can they do private letters, sick notes, medicals?

No

Q: Can I get telephone advice?

No

Q: Can I request home visit?

No

Q: Who can see my medical records?

Only the hub staff at the hub you are booked into

Q: Why must they have full access to my medical records?

It is the safest way for the clinician to treat you. They will only refer to parts of your record that are appropriate to your care. As clinical professionals they will continue to maintain and respect confidentiality.

Q: How will my own surgery know I have attended?

They will be sent a notification and your medical record will be updated directly.

Q: Who is Hillingdon Confederation?

Hillingdon Confederation is an organisation run by 44 GP practices across Hillingdon. It was setup to help improve health of the local community. It allows us to provide services that practices on their own cannot – such as full range of extended hours.

  • ONE problem ONE appointment PLEASE
  • You will NOT get any text message reminder but will receive a phone call.
  • You should cancel if you cannot attend so others can be offered the appointment.

To cancel call the surgery during normal opening hours or out of hours call directly to the Hub on 0208 226 6546, selecting the option for the hub they require and speak to the receptionist or leave a message on the voicemail.

  • Allow plenty of time as if you are more than 5min late you may not be seen
  • For all * services please bring in all relevant consumables dressings, staples, injections etc.
  • If your condition worsens you may need to go to A&E or you should call 111 for advice.
